Welcome to my website! I am an evolutionary biologist and postdoc in the McGlothlin lab at Virginia Tech. I completed my Ph.D. in the Matocq lab at the University of Nevada, Reno, in the extended lab group including the Feldman lab.
I'm interested in determining how species react and adapt to different environments or stressors, how this affects patterns of molecular and phenotypic variation, and vice versa. Most of my work has focused on historical biogeography and evolution of western North American rodents, and I tend toward thinking about these dynamics across broad spatial and temporal scales. My postdoctoral work focuses on a broader set of taxa -- birds and squamates -- to understand the molecular convergence in resistance to dietary toxins.
